Srinagar, Sep 04 (KNO): Saying that football tournaments are organized to channel the energy of youth in a positive direction, Additional Director General (ADG) J&K Zone CRPF, Rajesh Kumar on Thursday stated that such tournaments provide emerging talent from the valley a platform to showcase their skills and gain visibility among Premier Division Football Clubs. He was speaking at the conclusion of the 2nd Edition of the CRPF Football Cup 2025 at the Synthetic Football Turf, TRC Srinagar. According to details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in the thrilling final, Hamdaniya FC defeated Ganderbal United FC 3-1, with Kifayat scoring twice and Tabin Shafi once, while Mubashir netted the lone goal for Ganderbal United FC. Most players were high school students from downtown Srinagar and rural areas of Budgam and Ganderbal. ADG Kumar congratulated the winning and runner-up teams, saying their dedication and sportsmanship were commendable. “Providing uniform kits, quality footballs, refreshments, and proper equipment ensures these young players experience a professional football environment,” he said. Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG Srinagar Sector CRPF, also delivered the welcome address and later accompanied ADG Kumar in presenting trophies and medals to the players. He thanked the Chief Guest and other dignitaries for their presence. Meanwhile, the award winners were: Champions: Hamdaniya FC – Gold Medals, Champions Cup, Rs 75,000. Runner-Up: Ganderbal United FC – Silver Medals, Runners-Up Cup, Rs 60,000. Golden Boot: Suhail (Hamdaniya FC) – Rs 5,000 and Golden Gloves: Moomin Qayoom (Hamdaniya FC) – Rs 5,000 along with layer of the finals: Kifayat (Hamdaniya FC) – Rs 5,000 ADG Kumar also announced that the 3rd Edition of the CRPF Cricket Cup 2025 will be held from October 30 across four venues in Srinagar, giving young talent another opportunity to shine—(KNO)
